Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Facilities and amenities were great with 4 pools, water slides, pool table and gaming room. Food was good with lots of variety and options for kids. Location was great.

Negative: We stayed at the resort for two nights. The staff at the front desk was very personable and happy to help during check in. When we got to our room we noticed a trail / pack of ants at the front door, the air conditioning did not seem to be working and we noticed that the toilets would make a bubbling noise ever few minutes. We made the front desk aware. They sent staff by a couple of times. They told us there wasn't enough gas to support keeping the air conditioning going for the property and this was the best they could do. After a second visit they sprayed the ants but they were back the next morning. They never addressed the toilets. One of the toilets shot water out during our stay. On the morning of our check out, the sewage system over flowed and back flowed into our unit pouring sewage into our unit. We had to scramble out of our room immediately. We made the staff aware but no one really seemed concerned or interested in what had happened. It would appear they were already aware of these problems previously and really had no solution. Really no sense of urgency on the part of the staff at the resort to address the issues. Given what we paid and our expectations of Valamar resorts we were pretty disappointed on how this was all handled.
